EARNED INCOME TAX COLLECTION (EIT)

The Beaver County Tax Collection Committee has selected H.A. BERKHEIMER as the collector of earned income tax (EIT) for Beaver County Tax Officer in accordance with the requirement of PA Act 32.

The implementation date of the countywide EIT program was January 1, 2012.

What is PA Act 32?

Pennsylvania Act 32 of 2008 enacted comprehensive Earned Income Tax (EIT) collection reform throughout the State.  Pursuant to the Act a total of 69 countywide EIT tax collection districts were to be established. The purpose is to have uniform withholding, remittance, distribution as well as reporting, rules, forms and codes throughout Pennsylvania.  Consequently, if you are employed, your employer is now required to withhold your tax at the rate where you live (1% – shared between Greene Township and South Side School District) and it will be directed to your home municipality and school district. If you are self-employed, work out of state or are a federal employee you are required to pay the tax quarterly or be subject to additional penalty, interest and costs.
